The Healthiest Cities In The World

Shockingly, London finished 67th overall!

From yoga retreats to spas, there's a wealth of activities across the world to get you feeling fighting fit. TravelSupermarket compiled its list of the world's healthiest cities by taking into account the number of parks, gyms, fitness centres, spas, yoga and pilates studios in each city.
The rankings also took into account the number of health food shops and vegan option restaurants to green space and sunlight hours with the average cost of a night's stay there. Remember if you're looking to start your health journey check out our range of juice cleanses

If you're looking to boost your New Year health kick with a wellness weekend away, you might not have to travel far, Paris was found to be the healthiest overall. According to TravelSupermarket, the French capital boasts 894 spas, 139 parks and green spaces and an impressive 1,305 vegan restaurants.
Though London only finished 67th overall, it was dragged down the rankings by its relatively low number of yoga studios and the high cost of spending a night. But interestingly, London has around 4,000 vegan restaurant options three times as many as Paris.

4. PATTAYA, Thailand

Although it's renowned for its cabaret bars and 24-hour clubs, the vast number of  5-star spa and fitness centres means that Pattaya really is the perfect place to maintain your health and well-being.


5. VANCOUVER, Canada

A bustling and diverse city situated on Canada's West Coast, Vancouver's epic surroundings offer a refreshing dose of the great outdoors. What's more, the combination of gyms, spas and vegan restaurants scattered across the city gives Vancouver serious advantage.


6. MIAMI, United States

Turquoise waters, glamorous neighbourhoods and colourful art deco buildings, Miami combines the luxury of white sands and the excitement of trendsetting nightclubs, making it one of the most sought after destinations to travel to. There are over 500 vegan option restaurants and over 300 health food shops, so it's not surprising Miami scores highly when it comes to the world's healthiest cities.


7. SAN FRANCISCO, United States

San Francisco is best known for its iconic Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and year-round fog. The city also offers over 50 parks and 82 spas for tourists to enjoy, so finding some time to relax after a day of exploring is easy.


8. LISBON, Portugal

The hilly coastal capital of Portugal is made up of pastel-coloured buildings, trams and beautiful parks. A notable park to visit is Eduardo VII Park for its picturesque, maze-like hedgerows.


9. DENPASAR, Indonesia

Denpasar is a city full of adventure; from white water rafting to sunrise trekking tours, it has so much to offer. However, if it's more of a relaxing break that you're after, the city has a number of beautiful beaches for you to lounge on, as well as over 100 spas to relax and be pampered in.


10. BUENOS AIRES, Argentina

Buenos Aires is known as Argentina's cosmopolitan city. With an average of 7 hours of sunlight a day, it has lots of green spaces to explore including the Japanese Garden in Palermo, and a huge rose garden located inside Los Bosques de Palermo called Rosedal, so make sure you pack comfy shoes.
