How To Make An Instagram Worthy Smoothie Bowl

Aside from being delicious, whizzing up a smoothie bowl is an opportunity to get creative, plus they look great on Instagram! There are endless combinations and possibilities, therefore we’ve asked top food blogger and psychologist, Rachel Evans to share her favourite recipes…

 

CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE BOWL

INGREDIENTS
  • 2-3 heaped tbsp cacao powder
  • 3 strawberries
  • 2 – 3 handfuls of spinach
  • ½ cup rice milk
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries & cherries
  • Sprinkle of granola
METHOD
Blend all of the ingredients together, then transfer to a bowl and add your desired toppings.

    SUNSHINE SMOOTHIE BOWL (MANGO & NECTARINE)

    INGREDIENTS
    • 1 cup mango (frozen)
    • 1 large banana (frozen)
    • 1 juicy nectarine
    • 1 medium carrot (peeled)
    • 1/4 cup coconut water
    • 1/4 cup rice milk (or other plant based milk)

    Toppings

    • 1/3 cup granola (We like Planet Organic's – Tropical Paleo Granola)
    • 1/4 cup pineapple
    • A couple of pomegranate arils
    METHOD
    Blend all of the ingredients together. You might want to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender if it doesn’t seem to be mixing, or add more liquid. Transfer to a bowl and add your toppings! 

        

      ACAI SMOOTHIE BOWL

      INGREDIENTS
      • 1 tbsp acai powder
      • 1 frozen banana
      • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
      • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
      • 1/2 cup coconut water

      Toppings 

      • Fresh raspberries and blueberries
      • Goji berries
      • Coconut flakes
      • Cacao Nibs
      METHOD
      Blend all of the ingredients together, then transfer to a bowl and add your desired toppings.

       

      NECTARINE MELBA SMOOTHIE BOWL

       INGREDIENTS 
      • 2 small frozen bananas
      • ½ large or 1 small nectarine
      • ½ cup raspberries
      • ½ cup steamed carrots
      • ½ cup unsweetened cashew milk

      Toppings

      • ½ cup mixed berries & cherries
      • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
      • Sprinkle of granola
      METHOD
      Blend all of the ingredients together, then transfer to a bowl and add your desired toppings.

       

      PRESS MATCHA MADE IN HEAVEN SMOOTHIE BOWL

      INGREDIENTS
      • 1 frozen banana
      • 1/2 avocado
      • 1/2 cup oats 
      • 1/2 cup almond milk
      • A pinch of cinnamon
      • 1 tsp matcha 

      Toppings 

      • 1 tbsp desiccated coconut 
      • Sprinkle of granola
      • Mixed berries
      METHOD
      Blend all of the ingredients together, then transfer to a bowl and add your desired toppings.
