What International Women’s Day means to PRESS #BreakTheBias
The International Women’s Day global slogan for 2022 is “Gender equality today, for a sustainable tomorrow” which strongly resonated with us here at PRESS.
We want to celebrate the wonderful team at PRESS who work daily towards creating a healthier, happier world Powered by Plants and we thought we’d let them tell you what today means to them.
“I was very lucky to start my life with a mum who was strong, outspoken, brave, talented and loving and then was lucky enough to grow up with a sister who has the same qualities. Today is about celebrating all the progress that has been made, acknowledging the historic and ongoing challenges that exist to achieve true equality, and is about looking ahead to a future where gender has no bearing on opportunity.”
Emilie, Head of Brand Marketing
“For me, International women's day is a time to celebrate incredible women around me who inspire and motivate me to be a better person and push me out of my comfort zone. My sister Lucy, is someone who I constantly look up to for advice and inspiration. She is super comfortable in her own skin, totally unapologetic, never afraid to question or challenge the status quo and one of the funniest people I know which I think is hugely underestimated.”
Today is a celebration of amazing women paving the way for a more gender equal world, but also a reminder that there is still a journey ahead to build a future free from bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
Manon, Head of Creative
“Today I am thankful to all the leaders of changes, small and big, that allowed us to be the generation of women that we are. It’s important for me to represent and encourage that change as well, at my level, in the hope that one day all women in the world feel unapologetically entitled to exactly the same salary, security, freedom, power and dreams as men.”
Ollie, Commercial Manager
“Today is about women finding their equal place in new industries. Electronic music is my passion. For me it’s amazing to see female artists rise to the forefront of the electronic music scene, paving the way for younger women to explore their dreams and showcase their talents.”
Harriet, Head of Global Markets
“I want to shine light on women who inspire me. Florence Given, an author, is raw authentic and isn't afraid to confront and challenge the systems and structures of the patriarchal society we live in. This is where women today are often told they're too much or not enough, and Florence is raising awareness of this and empowering women to challenge the status quo as she does.”

“I want to celebrate all of the PRESS Ladies! I think it's actually quite hard to come by a team, where every single one of the women within a company are all lovely, kind and absolute queens! I love hearing about what everyone is doing in each of their areas, how they are working on it, what they are planning towards - I think it is super inspiring!”

“To me personally it is not just about women that have already achieved something great, but it's about the message it sends to all the girls and young
Important that women dream of achieving something great and continue to believe they can achieve it
Ella, Sales Executive
“My heart is bursting with the love of women with beautiful souls. Souls who make the darkest of days feel light. The kindest of souls who encourage and protect me. They show me everyday what it is to be strong, independent, powerful and fiercely loyal women.”
