Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting and fun times of your life. From choosing the perfect venue to selecting the dreamiest floral arrangements, every decision feels like a step closer to your fairytale day.. But let's not sugarcoat it – it is also one of the most nerve wrecking and stressful times a couple can go through. I often compare it to taking on a second job that you don’t get paid for, with tight deadlines, endless decisions, demanding clients with a million questions, and a budget that seems to vanish into thin air faster than you can say "I do."

Amidst the chaos of seating charts and dress fittings, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters – the love and connection between you and your partner. That's why it's essential to carve out moments of peace and fun amidst the whirlwind of wedding planning. One thing my finance and I made sure of was to prioritise date nights where wedding chat was strictly off-limits. These moments allowed us to reconnect, laugh, and remember the core reason why we were doing all of this in the first place!

As someone who recently navigated the rollercoaster ride of wedding planning, I've learned a thing or two about the importance of prioritising your health and well-being during this exciting (and stressful) time. Here are five health tips that I wish I had known before my own wedding – simple yet powerful to ensure you feel your best on your big day.

5 Health Tips to Help You Through Your Wedding Day

1. Hydrate Like Your Big Day Depends on It

It's easy to underestimate the power of hydration, but trust me, it can make all the difference. Those giant water bottles seem to be everywhere now (you do you). I always keep a reusable (normal sized) water bottle filled at my desk and try to get at least 2 litres a day at work. The refilling also forces me to break the habit of sitting for hours on end at my desk and gets the blood flow going.

One of my biggest regrets was not incorporating celery juice into my daily routine sooner. I started my daily celery juice subscription 3 weeks before my wedding and noticed a huge difference in my skin. Rich in electrolytes and powerful anti-inflammatory properties, celery juice became my go-to elixir for pre-wedding glow.

2. Embrace the Power of Restful Sleep

In the whirlwind of wedding preparations, it's tempting to burn the midnight oil, with hours spent after work on the laptop getting through wed-min, but don't underestimate the rejuvenating power of sleep. Prioritise a consistent sleep schedule, aiming for seven to eight hours of restful sleep each night. Not only will adequate sleep leave you feeling refreshed and energised, but it will also enhance your natural beauty, removing puffiness and dark circles under your eyes leaving you radiant for your big day.

Something I wish I did sooner was try and maintain consistency with waking up and sleeping at the same time each day. This can be tough with social life taking over on weekends but on the weeks I was able to keep my sleep within a certain timeframe it had a huge positive effect on my energy levels.
Magnesium supplements also really helped me and is something I am still taking now.

3. Keep Moving, No Matter How Busy You Are

With endless wedding to-do lists, it's easy to neglect physical activity, but even small movements can make a world of difference. Commit to incorporating movement into your daily routine, whether it's a brisk walk, yoga session, or trying out local gym classes for group motivation.

I started super simple by incorporating more walking into my commute and this made the world of difference for me. Not only did it make sure I hit my 20,000 steps a day but made for a MUCH more pleasant commute than the stuffy tube and meant I could use the time to call friends or family and catch up on the rest .  Aim for at least an hour of movement each day to boost your mood, reduce stress, and enhance your overall well-being.

4. Simplify Your Nutrition

Navigating the complexities of wedding planning can leave little time for meal preparation, but make sure you don't compromise on nutrition. It's incredibly tempting to choose the convenience options readily available filled with processed ingredients and high in sugar, saturated fat and salt.

Make sure you carve out the time to think about what you want to put into your body each day. If you’re stuck on time to cook then I would definitely recommend the PRESS meal plan - a personalised nutrition solution with everything you need including that cold pressed daily celery juice, breakfast pots like overnight oats and chia seed puddings, high protein soups and delicious plant -based dinners.

It meant I didn't need to count calories, plan weekly meals or do any cooking.
The best part was that it's all delivered straight to your door with a guide so you know exactly what you're having each day which was a huge time saving hack for me.

Try the PRESS meal plan for yourself here to see how much time it can save you.

5. Focus on How You Feel, Not How You Look

In a world obsessed with appearances, it's easy to get caught up in the pressure to look perfect on your wedding day. But here's the truth: true beauty radiates from confidence within. Instead of fixating on outward appearances, prioritise how you feel. Embrace self-love, confidence, and authenticity, knowing that your inner glow will shine brighter than any designer dress,  make up, or beauty pills!

As you navigate the whirlwind of wedding planning, don't lose perspective on what it's all about at the end of the day. Use these tips to give yourself the best shot at feeling your very best in the run up to the wedding you will be glowing from the inside out.

Here's to a healthy, happy, and enjoyable journey to the altar!

With love,
