Hangover Hacks For Your Face

How to get your skin looking fresh, even after you've overdone it on the after-work drinks...

We've all been there… You have one too many glasses of Pimms at your Sunday BBQ and wake up feeling worse for wear on Monday morning. Not only is your body suffering the consequences, but your face is likely to be suffering too. Drinking dehydrates your body and skin and can leave your face dry, puffy and dull. Have an event the next day? All is not lost… Use these tips to cure your hangover skin and get you back to looking like a 10/10 in no time!

1/ Rehydrate

It seems an obvious first solution, but people often underestimate the restorative power of simply rehydrating after a night out. Ideally, you should drink water, or another hydrating beverage before you go to bed. However, the following day you can still help your skin by rehydrating your skin ASAP. Grab a glass of H20 or PRESS’s Charcoal Water to sort yourself out.

2/ Eat Your Greens

Resist those hangover cravings for a greasy fast food fix and instead re-energize with healthy and vitamin filled foods. These will help remove the toxins and replenish Vitamin A lost from drinking. Green juice is an absolute winner for reviving your skin from the inside out: go for PRESS’s Daily Sweet Greens or Daily Lean Greens for a fix.

3/ Massage Your Face

Maybe not an activity to do at your desk while at work but a saviour, nonetheless. Use your fingers or a Jade Roller to gently massage your face. This will promote lymphatic drainage and reduce fluid retention in the face (aka that hangover puffiness).

4/ Moisturise and Cool

Upon waking, use a good moisturiser containing hyaluronic acid to instantly hydrate your skin and bring your brightness back. As well as moisturiser, an unlikely tool to help the hangover face is the teaspoon. Leave it in the fridge or freezer for 20 minutes and then place under your eyes to help de-puff your bags!

5/ Get Some Extra Sleep

If you have another event the day after a big night, sleep is your ultimate weapon to battle the hangover and get yourself looking your best again. Even if you’re at work during the day, a 20 minute power nap can give you the energy and fire to help you look refreshed and keep you going.
