The Ultimate London Vegan Restaurant Guide!

Say bye to steak and chips and jump on the bandwagon of the plant-based diet!

Say bye to steak and chips and jump on the bandwagon of the plant-based diet. You can forget the perception of vegan food as comprising of tasteless leaves, these delicious dishes at restaurants around London will leave you wanting more and possibly even convert you to a full-time Vegan diet.

1/ Kalifornia Kitchen

Location:

Fitzrovia and Fulham.

The Lowdown:

This seriously instagrammable bright pink cafe is perfect to spice up your insta feed. We most definitely agree with KK’s motto that ‘HEALTHY IS SEXY’. Not only is the cuisine 100% vegan but the whole restaurant is also plastic free!

What We Recommend:

There’s an eclectic drinks menu, ranging from numerous ‘shots’ to boost immunity to vegan wine and beer

For breakfast at the Fitrovia branch, we recommend the ‘Galaxy Bowl’ which contains loads of goodness, including blue spirulina, bananas and blueberries.

2/ Mildreds

Location:

Locations all around London (Dalston, Camden, Soho & Kings Cross).

The Lowdown:

In many articles this has been voted by vegans as one of the top 3 vegan restaurants. Like KALIFORNIA KITCHEN, Mildreds is entirely vegan and vegetarian. Each restaurant has a slightly different interior and feel to it, making each Mildreds experience a unique one.

What We Recommend:

PRESS’s resident Mildreds expert, Tom, swears by the Sri Lankan curry when eating in at the restaurant. For quick lunchtime takeaways when at work, Tom recommends one of the delicious burger options.

3/ Apres Food Co

Location:

Farringdon

The Lowdown:

Founders Catherine and Danny both have a background in nutrition and have been educated in the biochemical and physiological aspects behind food, so you know you’re in good hands. They don’t care for calorie counting but all food avoids gluten and refined sugar. Their ethos is ‘make friends with food’.

What We Recommend:

Try the Seasonal Tart served with warm garnishes. Another delicious option is the roasted butternut squash and red pepper salad which is prepared especially for vegans without the feta cheese.

4/ Farmacy

Location:

Notting Hill

The Lowdown:

Although this is more on the expensive side, it’s totally worth it! The food here is fresh to the MAX due to the fact the vegetables are picked in the Kent countryside are then transported straight to the restaurant.

What We Recommend:

From their iconic ‘Earth Bowls’ to their classic black bean & mushroom burger, nothing on the menu will disappoint.
